TruckerTools

TruckerTools provides phone-based driver tracking and may support temperature-related settings for reefer loads.

Setup checklist

  1. Confirm your TruckerTools account and credentials.
  2. Open Settings, then Integrations.
  3. Select TruckerTools.
  4. Enter credentials and tracking settings.
  5. Configure temperature settings if your team uses them.
  6. Save.

Test workflow

  1. Dispatch the load.
  2. Start tracking from the load.
  3. Confirm driver phone and load details.
  4. Confirm the driver receives and accepts the tracking request.
  5. Monitor the first location update from the load.
  6. Review temperature settings when the load requires them.

Normal usage

Start tracking once the driver is assigned and contact details are confirmed. When Trucker Tools sends a document for the load, ARK TMS adds it to the load files. Proofs of delivery become POD, bills of lading become BOL, and freight bills or invoices become Vendor Invoice. Other documents are saved as Other with the Trucker Tools label. For reefer loads, verify temperature requirements before sending the tracking request and review temperature-related updates during transit.

New reefer tracking requests default minTemp and maxTemp from the load's required Fahrenheit range. Temperature monitoring is enabled automatically only when the minimum is strictly below the maximum, as required by TruckerTools; equal legacy ranges remain available to edit without enabling an invalid request. Existing tracking settings win when editing an active request; organization settings are used only when the load does not have a range.

Troubleshooting

  • Driver phone missing or incorrect: update the dispatch driver, then save the active TruckerTools tracking settings.
  • Provider credentials expired or invalid: reconnect TruckerTools in Settings.
  • Temperature settings not configured for reefer workflows: review the integration and load requirements before retrying.
  • Load stops changed after tracking started: save the active TruckerTools tracking settings to send the updated route.
  • No recent update: confirm the driver accepted tracking and has phone service.
