Desktop App

The ARK TMS desktop app uses the same account, permissions, team access, and records as the web app.

Install the app

  1. On a desktop computer, open Desktop App downloads.
  2. Download the installer for macOS, Windows, or Linux.
  3. Install the app and sign in with your ARK TMS account.

The installer page requires an ARK TMS sign-in and a published installer for your platform. If no installer is listed or the installed app cannot access ARK TMS, contact ARK TMS support. Desktop access is not controlled in Organization Settings.

Manage downloads

Select Downloads in the desktop toolbar to review active and recent files. The list includes files downloaded from ARK TMS and generated files such as PDFs.

From the Downloads list, you can:

  • Monitor progress, pause, resume, or cancel an active download.
  • Open a completed file or show it in Finder, Explorer, or your Linux file manager.
  • Select a linked load number to open the related load.
  • Remove an item from history or clear completed items.

Select View all downloads to open the full Downloads tab. Search by file name, load number, source, or status. Download history remains available after the app restarts.

Removing an item or clearing completed history does not delete the saved file from your computer.

Expand previews and maps

Supported maps, document previews, billing packets, and other modal views include an expand control. Select it to use the full tab, then select Exit expanded view or press Escape to return.

Adjust page zoom

Zoom controls apply to the active desktop tab.

  • Zoom in: press Ctrl+=, Ctrl+Shift+=, or the number-pad + on Windows and Linux. Use the equivalent Command shortcuts on macOS.
  • Zoom out: press Ctrl+- or the number-pad -. Use Command on macOS.
  • Reset zoom: press Ctrl+0, or Command+0 on macOS.

If a tab remains too large or too small, reset its zoom before reporting the issue.

Resolve download issues

  • Interrupted: resume or retry the download when the action is available. If the app closed during an active download, start the download again when it cannot be resumed.
  • File missing: the file was moved or deleted from its saved location. Download it again from the source record.
  • File will not open: use Show in Finder, Show in Explorer, or Show in File Manager, then open the file from your operating system.
  • No linked load: only downloads associated with a single load show a load-number shortcut.
