ARK TMS

Freight broker migration guide

Switch from Revenova TMS to ARK TMS

Revenova is built and deployed on Salesforce and positions that CRM ecosystem as a core advantage. ARK TMS is a standalone broker operating system. A move can simplify platform administration for a brokerage that does not need Salesforce-native transportation workflows, but it can also affect CRM, AppExchange apps, custom objects, automations, identity, reporting, and integrations. Treat the project as a Salesforce separation, not a simple TMS export.

Current public positioning

Start with the platform you actually use

Revenova markets a cloud TMS for freight brokers, 3PL/4PLs, carriers, and shippers, with quoting, planning, routing, booking, dispatch, tracking, documents, settlement, customization, multimodal support, and predictive pricing. It states that the product is powered by Salesforce.

Revenova TMS may remain the better fit when

  • Salesforce CRM, AppExchange, custom objects, flows, dashboards, SSO, or shared customer data are strategic.
  • You need Revenova’s broader broker, 3PL, carrier, shipper, multimodal, or multi-currency scope.
  • Your organization has Salesforce administrators and governance built around the current platform.

ARK deserves the next proof session when

  • Your freight brokerage wants its TMS to stand alone from Salesforce platform administration.
  • You can simplify CRM and app dependencies while keeping required sales and customer handoffs explicit.
  • ARK’s broker workflow and provider set cover the operation without recreating a broad Salesforce application estate.

Fit and proof

Revenova TMS and ARK: what to verify

This is an evaluation framework, not a feature-count scorecard. Current contracts, plans, configurations, and integrations can change what either system supports.

Platform foundationRevenova is a Salesforce application and benefits from Salesforce CRM, security, customization, and ecosystem tools.ARK is a standalone web TMS with its own brokerage data model, roles, workflows, and reports.Identify every Salesforce object, flow, app, permission set, dashboard, integration, and owner used by transportation.

Evaluation plan

Prove the switch with one representative load

Use the same people, source records, and acceptance criteria in both systems. A guided demo is useful; a completed workflow is stronger evidence.

  1. 1

    Define the test

Choose a real lane, customer, carrier profile, document set, and accounting path.

  2. 2

    Create the load

Enter or import the order, assign ownership, and confirm the operational fields.

  3. 3

    Source the carrier

Test the load-board, carrier, rate, safety, and confirmation steps you actually use.

  4. 4

    Run execution

Validate statuses, tracking, exceptions, documents, and team handoffs.

  5. 5

    Close the loop

Generate the billing records and reconcile the supported accounting handoff.

Migration sequence

Move from Revenova TMS without guessing at cutover

Confirm export rights, archive requirements, open-load ownership, provider credentials, and acceptance criteria before the prior system changes.

  1. 1

    Build a Salesforce dependency graph

Inventory Revenova objects, standard CRM objects, flows, Apex, reports, dashboards, permission sets, apps, and integrations.

  2. 2

    Choose the future CRM architecture

Decide whether Salesforce remains, is simplified, or is retired, and how customer and sales data exchange with ARK.

  3. 3

    Map transportation objects

Translate quotes, orders, loads, routes, stops, carriers, documents, rates, charges, settlements, and status history.

  4. 4

    Rebuild identity and integrations

Plan SSO, users, roles, API consumers, AppExchange dependencies, accounting, EDI, tracking, and analytics.

  5. 5

    Reconcile CRM and TMS reports

Validate operational and sales reporting across the new system boundary before disabling Revenova access.

Data scope

Export before access changes

  • Revenova transportation objects, relationships, attachments, history, and record identifiers
  • Salesforce accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities, cases, and shared customer data
  • Custom objects, fields, formulas, flows, Apex, validation, page layouts, and permission sets
  • Reports, dashboards, BI feeds, AppExchange apps, SSO, and API integrations
  • Modes, currencies, languages, entities, settlements, documents, and retention requirements

Cutover controls

Name each risk and owner

  • Exporting Revenova records without the Salesforce relationships that give them meaning
  • Removing the TMS while sales, service, identity, or reporting still depends on its objects
  • Recreating years of customization instead of simplifying unused platform debt
  • Selecting ARK without validating multimodal, multi-currency, or global requirements

Migration FAQ

Questions to settle before leaving Revenova TMS

Does ARK TMS require Salesforce?

No. ARK is a standalone freight broker TMS. That can reduce Salesforce dependency, but a Revenova customer must still decide how CRM accounts, contacts, opportunities, activities, cases, and reporting will work after the switch.

Can Revenova data be exported from Salesforce?

Salesforce provides data export mechanisms, but usable migration data depends on Revenova object relationships, custom fields, files, history, formulas, automation, and permissions. Plan the export with the organization’s Salesforce and Revenova administrators.

Who should not switch from Revenova to ARK?

Organizations that require Salesforce-native CRM and TMS customization, AppExchange applications, complex multimodal logistics, multiple currencies or languages, or carrier and shipper operations should not choose ARK without a detailed fit assessment.
