Notifications

Notifications help users respond to load activity, tracking events, customer updates, billing work, and operational exceptions.

Notification areas

  • In-app notification bell: account-level alerts available from the workspace.
  • Load and tracking notifications: shipment updates, ETA changes, arrival and departure events, and tracking exceptions.
  • Email notifications: email delivery for configured workflows.
  • Customer tracking updates: customer-facing tracking messages when enabled.
  • Operational exceptions: events that require follow-up, such as missing documents or blocked workflow steps.

User preferences

Users may be able to adjust personal notification preferences from Account Settings or workspace settings, depending on organization setup.

Common preference areas include in-app alerts, sound preferences, bid or quote activity, and workflow-specific messages.

Tracking notifications

Tracking notification settings can include:

  • Recipients for tracking events.
  • Arrival notifications.
  • Departure notifications.
  • Interval updates.
  • Notes included with tracking updates.
  • Customer tracking emails when customer-facing updates are used.

Tracking settings may appear only when a tracking module is enabled for the organization.

Backup users

Backup users are managed from User Management. They are separate from notification preferences and are used for broker email coverage, including signed rate confirmation messages.

Best practices

Send notifications only to users who need to act. Keep customer tracking emails current, review recipients when roles change, and use load notes for operational context that should remain attached to the load.

Some emails and accounting syncs run in the background. Review visible status alerts before retrying a send or sync action.
